I have long admired the photos some members submit that have arrows, circles, and other features to help illustrate the image.

"Skitch" was recommended to me by my son-in-law as a versatile tool that is available for free on the InterWeb.

Within 30 minutes I had signed-on, downloaded, and applied Skitch notations to a photo. After annotating it with two arrows, I dragged it to my desktop, and then to iPhoto. I then did the normal exporting from iPhoto back to my desktop so it could be attached to this posting. I went back into iPhoto so as to resize it to be acceptable for the website.

Here is the result I have attached for test purposes.

Take care.

Why not just cut some arrows out of colored paper and point to the part that way

Tom, Damn, why didn't I think of that? Your annotated photos are some that inspired me. How do you do it, cut and paste? Seriously, there must be multiple sources out there for doing this to photos, and I think any hits from anyone would be helpful to others.

I use JASC PaintShop Pro for all my picture editing, mark-ups, and general graphics here on the website.

It may be a little over kill for somethings, but has all the tools I need.
