Yours should be plain stainless steel, no silk-screened information, with a rib around the edge, riveted to the driver's door forward jam, with car maker's name, VN, and paint and trim codes stamped. Original data plates were spot welded. This was the first photo in my file. Here's a correctly attached data plate, but from my Caribbean.
