Hub Caps for 1957 Clipper

Does anyone know what kind of paint(red) was used around the ships wheel in the center of the hub cap? I have three hub caps that is missing (or faded) the red detail around the wheel. Is this something that could be powder coated?

Thanks

I believe you may mean wheel covers, not hub caps. I'd guess originally they were painted with a nitrocellulose lacquer. The factory color probably varied a bit over the years but in my early years of the hobby, Cook & Dunn's "Flame Red" hobby enamel was pretty much the standard for the red part of Packard hub caps and wheel covers.

Thank you sir.

Yes, the 'wheel cover' that has the ships wheel in it.

I had the same issue with my 1957 Clipperw wagon. I gVe up trying to paint the centers. I just bought another Clipper set with nice centers.
Was hoping the fellow who makes the decals for the Senior Packard wheel covers would make the Clipper ships wheel decal. No luck there.
