R&R'd my whole brake set up. Took the rear brake backing plates off as well to clean up. Was wondering if there was a torque setting for those bolts or to just make sure they are snug? Thanks in advance.

If no one has a specific answer, a Google search should bring up torque settings for the thread size and pitch and that would be good to use. Typically I rarely use a torque wrench other than on heads or bearing caps, relying on feel and experience instead.

Packard did not issue much in the way of torque specs until postwar. Here is a listing from 48. I believe the rear ends are substantially the same design so if the bolts are the same size then I would expect the specs would be equally appropriate for a 37.

Thanks, great idea! I didn't think of that.
