Item 41 in the wire diagrams and radio sheets section on literature page is what you are looking for. It is unidentified on the site but is a SAMS for the 51-2 radio. Seems complete but during the scanning did have a couple of pages get out of order.http://www.packardinfo.com/xoops/html/downloads/RadioDiagrams.pdf

I have a number of Sams at home so when I return next week I'll look to see if there is one for 1951. I may also have a 1951 radio somewhere with it printed inside the back cover so I'll check for that today.

Hi Don,
I was able to find a schematic for the 1951 radio from the link Howard provided. The Photofact number is 160-7. My radio is the 416387 model without seek.

Thanks John

If yours is not working, it likely needs new capacitors. Pretty easy fix.

I haven't tried it Packard51, but I all ways like to replace at a minimum the buffer capacitor in the power supply on these tube radios. Usually it is just capacitors, sometimes a resistor that has changed value with age.

I take it these are a fairly straight forward removal from the car? Remove the knobs, remove the nuts, unplug the antenna and power to it. Any braces etc... That need removed?

Believe there is a bracket at the bottom which bolts to the dash edge and on some there is an additional strap on the back between the rear of the case and firewall area.
