I saw this parts car for sale, and wondered if the visor shown in the picture is factory? I see one listed in the 1954 accessory brochure. But does anyone have one that can verify that this is real?

Don,

During my trip to the US in July '07, in Idaho I saw the Packard collection of a former owner of my '41 Coupe. Among the dozen Packards were a couple of early 50's with visors, see pic's. Don't know whether they were factory or not. And I've thrown in a pic of a '48 he had, also with a visor.

Inspect the visor closely at the ends where it fastens to the car. You will quickly see if it fits correctly or if it was a hodge podge, also does the contour of the visor match the shape of the roof?

It may be a genuine Packard accessory or it may be an aftermarket but in either case if it fits you should grab it.

Personally I don't like sun visors but they are popular and not cheap to buy. The demand outstrips the supply. That's why I say you should buy one when you get the chance.

Thanks Ozstatman & Rusty.

It looks like the fella you visited has quite the Packard collection!

The visors you have shown do look like the one on the parts car. So thanks for posting them.

BigKev. The guy is asking $600 for the whole car. Is there anything else on the car you might need? The car has no engine, trans, hood, grille or front bumper. Were there any other parts anyone on here would want? I might make him an offer and see if I can cannibalize it as a "PackardInfo" parts car. How about it '54 Packard owners?

The guys phone # is 503-787-1704. The car is located in Salem Oregon.

What shape is the rear bumper in? Also I could use some glass if it's in good shape. I guess the cost of shipping and logistics has to be considered also.
