The vehicle number is A500227 and the engine number is 240026 , it was originally delivered to Dillon Brothers in Springfield, MO in 1938. (according to the chassis plate).
Do these correlate in your opinion?

The engine number sounds like 1938 (photos would help) and there is a chart here somewhere on this site that would help but I can never locate it other than by chance. Maybe someone has it handy but I can't find it. I don't know what kind of numbering earlier engine numbers had but 1938 started with A, 1939 with B, 1940 with C and so on but, of course, this number did not match any other numbers used and was only for the engine.
