That makes sense although 1601 itself is valid so maybe it could either pull up generic 1601 information or provide a note that it cannot process bare chassis numbers.

There was an extraneous HTML tag that was causing the msg that 1601 was not a valid model number error not to display.

That has been fixed. Also if you look at the last line in the exceptions to the Vehicle Number format:

Canadian built, Custom Bodied, and Export vehicles may differ from the standard format, and are beyond the scope of this information.

This covers "custom" bodied vehicles as they use their own schemas.

This works off of body numbers, not chassis numbers. The model info pages provide a cross between the two. But there is no way to provide any additional information as a bare chassis could have been turned into any variety of finished bodies. Hence why they are out of scope of the decoder. If someone has a custom bodied vehicle, they are generally going to know far more about it than the decoder would provide anyway.

Made some minor changes so to the formatting so there would be less word wrap.

Here is an example that has pretty much all the information available (paint, dealership, etc):

Getting an error on the decoder with 2462–15219. Any way to fix it? It’s a 1951 200, of course, but probably a late model.

It works for me. The problem is that your dash isn't a dash. It's an emdash, so the code is rejecting it as a bad format. Try typing it in manually vs cut and paste.

I didn’t think of that is is an em-dash! As you suggested, I copied and pasted it as it was received so glad to hear that it was operator error!

Made a fix to the Decoder as the database had the starting production number for 1935-1937 Junior Cars as 101 instead of 1001. That has now been fixed.

Hey, Kevin.

I happened across another glitch.

The Model Information section list body style 1090 as a 1937 station wagon. Then, the decoder comes up with that as well.

This is incorrect. The 1090 body style is the 1937 138CD limousine.

I believe that the 1937 120 station wagon is a 1070 body.

Ok, the station wagon is now 1070.

I don't believe there was a 1090 (a non-deluxe limo). So I think the 1090CD is correct for a 1090 Deluxe Limo, as that follows the schema for the other Deluxe models.

The "Kimes" book makes reference that the 120 138wb cars were added mid-year with a Seven Passenger Touring and the Touring Limo which were in Deluxes.
