I was told that this is a factory 53-54 A/C water pump that is frozen from rust and exposure.

I was going to try the 50/50 mix, but thought I would ask the more enlightened here on this site.
What would be the way to free up this pump?

My thought was to fully submerge it?

Thank you, Riki,

50/50 mix?
Will a plastic bucket be ok, or should it be metal?

Covered or uncovered?

Dump it in Evapo rust for a week. Then soak in the ATF/diesel and acetone.

A little rant 1st.

We had ice and snow a couple of weeks back. My live oaks at home dumped everything leaf and most bushes looked like they should be replaced.

I’m down at the shop.
I have the greenest and healthiest weeds!

I also found the decomposing rodent that I could only smell before.

Now on with what I did today

Thanks again to all the suggestions.

I took off the rotted hose, and the remains of the fan belt.
I 1st used Sam’s club degreaser.
And scrubbed, and scrubbed, wire brushed, and wire brushed...........

After all of the degreasing the bolts started falling out of the housing.
I then tried wrenching the ones with nuts and bolts, and they came out. The hardest one was one of the slotted screws.

And then I found the issue.

More scraping and scrubbing.

I wire wheel brushed the bolts.

The pump turns freely now!

And into the rust bath for a while.

One week later and the water pump came out better than I thought. I sprayed the rust block and letting it dry before putting it back together.

It really spins nice.

Thanks again for the advice.
