Good Morning...A number of us don't actually wash our old machines in the normal way because of the old rubber around the windows and possible staining of the headliner and door panels.

What we do is to use spray detailer and a wet towel for the first pass and then more detailer and a fresh towel or two for a second pass. Lots of water is the enemy of these old machines...many begin to rust from too energetic washing! Some things to check right at the beginning...coolant, engine oil, transmission oil and rear end oil...often the rear end is the one not checked sort of out of sight and out of mind.

Don't mean to preach...but just sharing what some of us have learned over the years...enjoy and DRIVE your Packard...the more you drive them, the better they run...Ernie in Arizona

Ernie, hello and thank you!
I wasn't aware of the spray detailer but it makes so much sense.
Btw, the word 'preach' never once came to mind! I'm open to all suggestions.
My intention is to care for my car and keep her on the road as a daily driver except for when the snow flies.

Thanks for your suggestions!
Shannon

If you like cleaning your car alot. Waterless Wash concentrate and distilled water are alot cheaper than buying bottles of spray detailer premade.
