It would be good, if possible, to get at least the scrapped/destroyed cars into the registry so they are noted for future reference.

Various people have records/lists/rosters in their possession that get lost over time due to various reasons, so would be nice to get some of those consolidated for future research. After all, they are not making any new ones.

I owned all 3 cars.Car #26,paint and trim was taken from vin tag.I have the dealer paint and upholstery book witch matches the car.The late Randy Burger was nice to give me a copy of Bill of LADEN from Studebaker archives. It is delivery to Earl C Anthony La Brea.La Brea was a hub to three of his dealerships. In side of the car was ECA San Francisco plate frame.Car # 11 was mes 92 there was a block of wood screwed to top of heater housing to impair travel?

Randy Burger took many pictures of my car to reference his restoration and this was one of them. The heater housing is Packard. On 4 door sedans the floor had razed panels underneath the seat l & R. Not sure of 2 doors? On Caribbean's they would have obstructed the narrow seat track and were not installed .The seat is all the way forward in the razed position which would make it impossible drive.

Didn't Ole across own 56' 1001 as well? But it was in really rough shape?

If I remember right, Nat Dawes owned '55 1001

Ole did not own 5699-1001 but he was supervising its restoration here in NJ on behalf of the owner in Scandinavia. I supplied some parts, followed it from purchase, and could post some photos of it.

As purchased by Ole's friend the car would even be a marginal parts car and it will be more of a reconstruction than a restoration, little of the original was salvageable. The motor, windshield frame, folding top bows, some of the cowl, the VN plate, seat frames, and some other parts will be saved, much of the rest coming from a 1956 400 donor car. If it weren't 5699-1001 it would have been scrapped 20 years earlier when it appeared for sale at the 1999 Packard Centennial, it was even at that time nearly a derelict.
