+The Olds or time frame for GM antennas is late 70 to 85 on full size cars .. The paint on engine is from Bill Hirsh 54 & 56 Packard. These pics are after rebuild and with the heat shield for intake manifold

Another question looking at power brake unit found what I consider a problem . Unit was REBUILT but have found some matters that concern me as the vacuum boost was not working as pedal was hard. Randy had this unit rebuilt as I have receipt and tag from unit. My concern is the compensating stem diaphragm (1.3543 458945 ) is torn and sealed with black silicone as was the place where it seats. The compensating stem (1.3544 458944 ) is missing from this unit. Wondering if this is a modification or some kind of REPAIR . Have found other things that don't agree with the manual such as missing felt seal and rubber stop on enclosed page. I have ordered rebuild kit for vacuum side but think I will have to find compensating stem . If some one could provide a sketch with dimensions would be able to get one made

Doesn't a new compensating stem as well as the little rubber piece come as part of rebuild kits?

See, for example, this one (various folks including Max and Kanter sell rebuild kits)

For example this one:

Bendix Treadle Vac rebuild kit

Ross Miller recommends Tiger Treadle Vac for rebuilds:

Tiger Treadlevac Repair

Max and Kanter will also rebuild your unit and do a fine job. Kanter also will do that on an exchange basis, I understand.

He's talking about parts in the vacuum section, rather than the hydraulic section. Look carefully at Figure 22 from the page he attached; follow the red lines.

I see, you're right! Thank you, my bad.

I was looking at the top-left of the picture.

I cannot tell from the photo or illustration in the SM if this is the rubber part you are asking about but Fusick Automotive has a major brake rebuild kit for the Treadlevac that contains a lot of vacuum section parts. I can see a rubber part being replaced but the steel stem could be a part expected to be used again. It might be worth asking if their kit contains what you need or if they have a vacuum section only kit.
