'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.

It would be interesting to know the date of the ad and if anyone has the true story and number of those Packard trucks actually produced.

The ad makes it sound as if it was full production but as I recall, one of the Packard books said after the 58 Packard production officially ended the people in charge suddenly realized they still had contractural obligations for an additional period of time with certain dealers. They had to keep making something with a Packard name on it and a truck was the fastest and cheapest item they could produce for them. Believe the article also said only a "handful" were built. Another article said those Packard trucks built were because of a contract with someone who only wanted trucks .

Unfortunately I see nothing indicating a date on the ad. Did find some more info and pics though. Apparently they were based on the Studebaker Transtar truck and basically rebadged.
