Front Bumper adjustment

I"m doing a rechrome on the front bumpers
56 The 400
after removing the bumpers and the support
brackets (for cleaning and painting) I found
that 1 of the two main bolts that hold the bracket to the
frame has has a built in concentric under the head
this goes into the long slot on the bracket
then passes through the Frame to be bolted
the front bolt provides a pivot point.
So don't throw those bolts away,
I almost did as I'm replacing screws and bolts
with SS. where I can.

Have you selected the shop where you are going to have your chrome work done? I live in Simi Valley and I use a place that I can recommend. He is in the L.A. area, does the triple chrome process, he picks up and delivers and not at a bad price for chrome work these days.

When something wasn't completely right I haven't had problems with him redoing it. He diid all the chrome & nickle plate work on my '32 and some on my wife's '55.

Thanks for the heads up on the bolt heads,

and he is close to me

NP on that bolt... If I had not wire wheeled them

OK
Sorry I missed this post until today
I was there yesterday... only about a 40 min
drive down the coast.
maybe 2 dozen cars. about 6 vendors.
I left around 10:30. How many times can you
walk around and see the same cars.
on one 55 Caribbean was there, a man
drove his over from Az.
Which brings up a question maybe you know
the answer.
Is the ground strap bolted to the water pump
housing? He had a correct braided strap
and I'm using a cable, which is not correct..
Yes I know I've made changes, but somethings
need to stay the same.
Best
