Airport security in Seattle a couple years ago sure took a close look at a 1965 Cadillac Bendix master cylinder in my carry-on bag!

I made it back to Germany with a suitcase full of parts....water pump, hydraulic rams for the convertible top, fuel filter, fuel gauge float/sender, robe rail for the seat back and a few other odds and ends.
I recently got the PS pump back together. I wound up using a 68x2mm O ring which I hope holds. I pulled the generator out and will clean that up. The brushes look like they still have some life on them, but can anybody comment from the pictures on how much life they still have? It looks like one of the brushes was hanging over the edge of the rotating armature? and worn down 1/4 inch or so. Attach file: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

It’s hard to tell from the photos, but ‘in-board side’ brush holder looks like it over hangs the end of the commutator. I would investigate that once you’ve disassembled the generator.

Generator will get a looking into someday. I spent an hour last night removing the Convertible top valve. Tight quarters under the dash, but I removed the valve and sent it to Hydr-e-lectric in Florida for a rebuild. It was pretty crusty, and the crimp from the Red wire Was broken, so I think come spring I will have a working top. All Hydraulic parts will be new or rebuilt, and I will check the wires for continuity.
