Packard Pocket watch

Hi All,

About 10 years ago my house was broken into. At the time I had a very lovely Packard pocket watch. This pocket watch was in a octagon shape, with the numerals replaced with the letters "PACKARD EIGHT" The person I bought it from bought it at the Hershey swap meet in 1999, my question is has anyone ever seen another watch like this before, or were there others made? Unfortunately I never found out who stole it, or recovered the watch.

Cheers,
Mathew

Mat,

To satisfy my curiosity, and probably that of others, do you have a photo of your watch you can share with us?

Bob Skop of NJ and Jack Behn of CT, now both deceased, were active and avid collectors of Packard pocket watches and I'm pretty sure I'd seen several matching your description in their collections. They were both active at Hershey for many years, perhaps you bought yours from one of them?

Unfortunately I don't have a photo of it.. I did a representation a long time ago of what it looked like.

It is possible that the previous person may have bought it from them. I have never seen another one.

If anyone reading this has one for sale or knows of anyone selling one. I'd be moist interested in buying one. They are such a unique piece.

I have one in that octagon shape, but instead of the Packard Eight around the dial, the dial is black with Arabic numerals, and the Packard radiator shape positioned just above a scroll. Been a log time since I looked at it, but I think the scroll might say "of a distinguished family."

Hey Kevin, that sounds like a nice watch. I think I've seen one similar. Very cool.
