I have a 1940 Super 8 and am trying to locate the backup light switch. I believe it is near the hi/lo foot switch but do not know exactly where.

Thanks for your help.

On Clipper bodies and following years, it is at the base of the steering column just above the steering box on a bracket attached using the hardware holding the bottom support for the shift tube. 40-42 conventional bodies may be the same. If so, look for a rectangular box with a plunger that is pushed in by the bottom R-1 shift lever when reverse is selected.

Throttle switch? 1941 and other years with ElectroMatic Clutch may have had a throttle switch but I have no idea what that might be on 1940 unless you mean the overdrive kick down switch.
