You are a very lucky guy! Your dad left you some nice items.
A ring very similar to yours sold at auction this past weekend for $1,900 and auction fees brought the total price to $2,240.

A number of years ago I found this unique item at a swap meet. I have often wondered how many others exist in collections.

Sorry, but in my earlier post I said the ring sold for $1,900 before fees. I confused that with another ring that sold. Your version sold for $1,600, or $1,890 after fees.
Here is more information for only the Packard items from the sale last weekendproxibid.com/Check-the-Oil-Promotions/Th ... packard&srchloc=true&ipp=100&sort=4 Check out the going rates for some of these items. Frankly some of the items were sold at lower prices than I thought. Look at Lot # 186 – a bronze paper weight that was cast circa 1919. Normally these things sell for about $500, but the auctioneer never mentioned the description on the reverse: J.G. Vincent. I know who bought the paper weight and it is being donated to the museum at the Packard Proving Grounds. The same sponsor of this auction is holding 4 more auctions in the next 3 months.

RogerDetroit, thank you for the info and the link. Lots of nice Packard items in that auction, and I'm surprised at how reasonable some of them went for.
As for my Dad's ring, he would have received that from Packard in the 1950s, so I wonder about the ring in the auction being listed as from the 1930's.

To r1lark,
Like you I was skeptical of the description of the second ring as being from the 1930s as it appears nothing lilke the first ring. And the first ring has the look of a pre-war ring. But the link provided by acolds definatively shows your ring was a post-war design - at least 1951. That PDF scan is a great find, sory I missed it when it was originally posted. Thanks.

RogerDetroit and acolds, thank you for your comments. And acolds, thanks for providing the .pdf on the Master Salesmen program!
I'll have to do some searching on this site to see what else I can find. I keep forgetting that this site is so much more than just a forum! By the way, here is one other thing I have of my Dad's. I had posted it a while back, but some may not have seen it - a pen holder and clock set, pics below.
