Looking at a T5. Actually, the TKX. The GM version bolts up to a Muncie bellhousing, and I think the T10 was also available in that spread. I swapped a T10 for a Muncie in an Oldsmobile once. There's no adapter for the Mushrat T5 to go to a Packard bellhousing. Maybe an old S-10 tranny. I junked one once when its donor truck got wrecked. Meh.

Of course, the trick is centering the input shaft on the crank.

I'm trying to avoid one of those, "here, hold my beer" things.

If you're not having fun, maybe it's your own damned fault.

A World Class version with an S-10 tail shaft would be my choice.

Only if I can make it connect. And operate.

I know the older (c. 1940s) Chevy and GMC engines will bolt up to a Packard box.

I understand that some got used for racing. I had heard that was the LaSalle transmission, but the source was questionable.

I'm still diggin' and y'all are still he'pin'.

Still digging. But it looks to be another working weekend. Damned jobs cut into hobby-time.

This saga is becoming curiouser and curiouser. A couple of these companies make kits to put 90s trannys into 60s car but don't want to discuss anything not in their cookie cutter pre-fabbed kit world.

"I have this and I'm thinking of doing that." "That's not what we do." "Really? Because your website indicates that you do things like this." "Nope." Click. "Pussies."

Did find a guy in PA. He's recently completed helping a man rig a five speed into a hand built Maserati replica using a Coyote engine. He said he could help make a plan to make stuff work.

So, there's a start.
