Hello all, I am new to the forum, I have disassembled the rear differential for my Packard project. The car is a 31 standard 8 model 833 but the rear I have in it may be slightly earlier and out of an 8 lug super 8 or truck? the ring gear is 57 tooth and the pinion is 13 tooth. I have added pictures of both with what I believe is a part number(141572-13-57 Packard 6-28 or maybe 29?on the pinion and a number( 57 13) on the ring gear. Both of these have very deep pitting and I would really like to find a better set if it is out there. Can anyone help? I have all new bearings for the rear and do not really want to put it all back together without at least trying to find a better replacement. maybe someone out there has a set or a spare rear differential with the same ratio? Please let me know. Thank you.

Probably other people know better, but these two companies are in the business of manufacturing new ones:

I have a ring and pinion that may help you, but not sure. My pinion looks to be exactly like yours, but the ring is different. I'm not a Packard guy, but was told this set is for a Packard, not sure of the year. The pinion has 141373-13-61 and has 13 teeth and a 6 spline shaft. The pinion has 50 teeth and #19-545 stamped on it, but has a much larger inner flange than yours. Total diameter of the ring is 12". It has "Packard Twin 6" written in marker on it, but not sure the source of that info.

Thank you for sharing, It does not appear that the 50 tooth ring gear set you have will work with mine as the inside flange is much larger. thank you for reaching out. I am still looking.

I saw this on Etsy, looks similar to your part. 4.69 ratio it says.

Thank you, I will check it out. 4.69 would make it a 61 tooth ring I believe which is a different diameter than mine but I will look into it.
