Does anyone know a Tim Berto ? Has a red Packard with a white top. Appears to be a 200.
Was working a transaction with him. I have reason to believe that it's a scam due to red flag type questions.
He wanted payment sent via Friends and Family. I sent it for Goods and Services. He said he can't process it....SMH
I you know Tim Berto, and he's a good guy, please let him know that he may have been hacked.

Regards,
HotRod

Unless working with a reputable dealer, always deal and pay in person. It's worth a little airfare!

It's always possible but maybe not always practical although practicality is a personal decision more than anything else.

Mark,
If you use Pay Pal friends and family there is no fee for him to pay. Maybe he means he’s not willing to pay the fee if payment is for goods and services.

Yes, but that's illegal and against PayPal's service agreement.

Also, I think the payor cannot use a credit card. It has to be directly from a checking account. Less opportunity for recourse. But Don’s right. It’s really not legal, but people do it, like if the person is truly a friend.

It turns out that this Berto person has been scamming people on Facebook too and goes by many aliases including Pim Berto and Frank Belle. Apparently his real name is Charles Frederick Eckert residing in New Bern, North Carolina.
