Searching for a 1939 1702 (1291-2067; B-308076A)

I'm looking to see if my grandfather's car is still around. My grandfather, Charles Kirby of Portsmouth, OH, bought a 1939 Packard 1702 in 1950 and used it as the family station wagon until selling it in the mid-70s. My grandmother made him sell that car so he could buy a 1919 Scripps-Booth (which I now have) from a Barney Pollard auction. The Packard serial number is 1291-2067; engine number is B-308076A.

From family memory, we believe he sold it to a guy in Mansfield, OH. Some car museum friends of mine think it could still be in existence since it survived into the 70s, but beyond that we haven't had any luck.

Thanks

Using the 'Packard Decoder" tool on this site shows you your Grandfather's car details. Just type in the model # to view.
As to the actual car, there is only one other copy of the model registered on this site. It is located in South Africa and is right hand drive.
As there is currently no picture available your photo is an important addition to the data base.
Good luck with your search! I dug a 37 out of an orchard near Ottawa Ontario Canada last October that was off the radar since 1960 so anything is possible.
