Coil Wiring

Stupid question alert!
So, my car had no ignition wiring upon purchase. I have worked on 12V neg ground, but 6V pos ground is new to me.

So, primary circuit: For the coil a wire runs from ignition to it. A wire runs from the coil to the distributor. That much I know. (I have a standard 6V coil, not the capped style one that was on the car originally.) Which post do I attach the ignition wire to? The Negative post? Then the positive post has the wire from it to the distributor?
I want to get it right as if it is backwards it can burn out the condenser before you know it is wrong.
Thanks for reading and hope you can help.
Bob J.

In point of fact, the condensor will not give a rat's patootie which way you hook it up, so no fear, but you will get a better spark if you hook it up as JW suggested. That has to do with the spark jumping more readily from a hot portion of the sparkplug to a cooler portion.

I agree with Ross. Either way will work but you will get a better spark if it is hooked up correctly.
