Has anyone ever installed a modern oil seal in a 1941 356 engine? If so what is the number

Never considered a modern type seal, the OEM seal, properly installed, is pretty flawless in performance and service life.

I agree with Owen on the original type. As it is a face seal, you would have to turn up an adapter to hold a modern seal and weld it to the inside of the timing cover.
