Okay, now I get it. A restromod so to speak. Stock appearing inside and out, but with an upgraded power plant. I think this is the best way to go as you can enjoy the car and have good power to go places. Long range, it will be more valuable over time and even better if a period correct engine is installed. It took me awhile.

I haven't worked on the car this week as both my wife and I have been down with Covid.

But Ron sent me pictures of the finished woodgrained pieces and the are currently in route to me.

I think they look fantastic.

I was wondering why you had been absent recently. COVID, very nasty stuff, and you and your wife down with it at the same time. Wish you both a speedy and complete recovery. Take care.

I wondered where you had been but presumed your job had taken you out of the area.

My partner and I both got COVID in August right after I returned from my shop (I probably picked it up at the Seattle airport in spite wearing a mask the whole time). We actually felt fine at the time but now we both still suffer bouts of severe lethargy which I hope you and your wife do not have.

Got a few of the wood grain panels installed before I ran out of steam. Stupid covid.

Ron did great work! They actually match the steering wheel.

An interesting issue cropped up yesterday when I was putting the center dash panel in. Since I had this all apart to send to panels off. I sourced and installed the correct windshield wiper motor. It mounts pretty much upside down behind the dash on a bracket that extends down from the top of the cowl structure.

Everything lines up correctly with the wiper arms, so I know the orientation is correct. But now there is not sufficient clearance to snap the maplight socket into its home in the dash structure. The socket is too long and hits the motor.

All dash lamp sockets I have are the same as far as the speedo, gauge lights, etc, which match the same snap in style socket I have for the maplight.

The original harness was pretty much gone when I got the car, so I have no idea if the map light originally used a different style or right-angle socket to clear the wiper motor.

Perhaps instead of the socket pushing in from the back, it pushes in from the front? Just looking to see if anyone else with a 115-C or 120-C convertible couple has anything they can show for reference.

Otherwise, I am going to have to find a different solution that uses a shallower socket, or has the socket more outboard. In covered by that cast chrome deflector, so the socket and bulb are hidden from direct view.
