Questions in regards to the various rubber bumpers used in different places.

If someone can give me some pictures and/or measurements of the bumpers used on the doors, glove box and hood I would appreciate it.

I see two holes on the dash structure near the top of the glovebox door closes against. So I would think there are two bumpers there.

Along the hood side, under the "barb" of the body line, near the side hinges, there is also a hole. I know there are hood corners, which I have, but are there any other rubber parts on the hood?

Finally, besides the large rectangular door lock jam rubber bumpers, are there any other door bumpers?

I have a lot of round rubber bumpers part I pulled out of an estate, so I want to see if any of these are appropriate.

They are very bright. Wonder how they will show at night with the headlights on. I like the idea that they are hidden.

I am also surprised by the britness. Even though the garage was probably dimmer than outside would be they still stand out. It will be interesting to see what happens in bright daylight or with the headlights on.

In regards to the headlight location, I wonder if the fact a large headlight is flashing will attract any cops looking to make a quota. I have no idea how current law in regards to light placement will work on an old car but expect it would attract some attention. Doubt it will be much fun if you get pulled over and have to explain that while Packard did place a parking light bulb in that location, you just took advantage of it for signals.

Around where I live I've heard of people slapping whatever license plate they want on an old car and the cops don't care.

You'd have to run into a real stickler to get pulled over for that, especially because original equipment is generally street legal even if unusual now, so anything that looks half decent they wouldn't waste their time.

My uncle's rat rod, he has open beer cans filled with cement glued to the running board, talk about an attention-getter

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.

For rubber bumpers:

There are 2 for the glove box corners, part #312760 which are 13/32" diameter. Looks like the hole is 1/4"

There is a small rubber bumper in the holes on the side of the hood under the barb. Don't have any dimensions for these.

No other bumpers for the hood but there is 1/2" wide hood lacing on the side of the cowl and radiator surround.

Brian, thanks for that information. Are they just round tubular bumpers or domed bumpers?

Hard to see in the garage, but even with the headlights on, the turn signals are visible when flashing.

All the wiring is done now and the backup light is working off a temporary underdash switch.

Looks like the glove box bumpers were a button shape then dimpled in by the door as seen in the photo.

The hood side ones are more of a dome shape.
