Unless there's no engine number. There's yellow paint under the red paint, so pretty sure it's a correct engine.

West, I seem to recall that the engine number pad on my 55 Clipper had also been painted with a light colored paint. Here is a photo of it after I cleaned the area to better expose the number.

Thanks for the info everyone.

I am currently looking at a 400 that has previously been fully restored. I am just waiting on the prepurchase inspection report and will be going from there. I will keep you all updated with the progress. Thank you all for you support and insights.

Interested to know if the 400 is in Oz or the USA?

Just FYI, I forgot to mention earlier but I know of a 55 400 and a 56 Patrician for sale, not posted publicly, both I think at a fair price, but not mine. Both are in very nice shape, just need cleaned and basic TLC from being garaged for the past 5 years. LMK if you want more info and I can get you in touch with the seller. Location is Pennsylvania, USA.

It's these two:

Unless you have a strong preference, I would lean towards the 56 Patrician, it's cheaper. The 400 is very original and they want a bit of a premium for it seems like, though both have the original drivetrain and upholstery still. Not to mention that normally 55 prices are 5-10% higher than 55, and they are rarer too. Just food for thought.

If you get to talking, I might be able to drop by and get some more pics/videos. The seller doesn't live near the cars, they are stored in her dad's friend's garage. It's unusual but I purchased my 400 from her so I know it's legitimate.

Do you know the process for titling imported vehicles in Australia?

Thank you for your insights, it is greatly appreciated. I have emailed the owner and I am currently in discussions.
As for importing to Australia, as long as the car has clear titles and over 30 years old, no modifications need to be done. A lot of paperwork, lol, but thats what i pay the importer to do.

I will keep everyone updated!!

Thank you all for your wisdom!!
