Grandson of Packard owner requesting help in locating his grandfather's car

Please see the attached photos. This car was formerly owned by Al McGarra of Connecticut, a long-time member of the former Eastern Packard Club. The car is a 1941 180 Model 1908. This car had factory air conditioning. It was sold sometime around 1991 after Mr. McGarra's passing. If you know the current whereabouts of this car, please send me a PM and I will pass the information onto the grandson. He is interested in finding the car and possibly purchasing it if available. Any help will be appreciated.

I remember this car when I was in the EPC. One day back in the 1980's, I was volunteering at a car show. It was near 100 degrees, and I was really sweltering. Mr. McGarra pulled up in the 180 and rolled down the window. I'll never forget being immediately hit with a blast of cold air. That unit really worked! First time I had ever seen a Packard with factory air.

If the car is presently with, or was formerly owned by, a PAC member contact the Roster Keeper for 41 180's, see contact info below. He may or may not be able to assist.

If you're not having fun, maybe it's your own damned fault.

Wat, he is an absolute gentleman and has helped me with good advice and information several times. He's getting a bit older (as are we all) so have some patience.

Thanks to everyone who responded. I was able to locate the car using the PAC Directory. There were only 10 Model 1908's listed, so I sent an email to each listed owner. I came up with a conclusive match and better yet, the current owner does not live too far away and is actually considering putting it on the market soon. So, the grandson may be able to achieve his dream of owning his grandfather's Packard. I'm sure he is going to be ecstatic.

Very nice to hear!

Now if Cli55er can only find his childhood 55 Constellation last seen in the 90's...

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.

Wow… didn’t think anyone would remember that. I lost track of it at the last person I called… some professor up in years IIRC and the trail went cold. And If my brain is working right… it was a 4 door Panama.

I did find the 47…. Asking price was/is astronomical and way out of blue book range…. Hopefully this grandson doesn’t get a sticker shock and can afford it. I got lucky with the 37.

Several others that my Grandpa had… some I’ve found and others not. I hope this youngin will get to feel what I felt when I purchased the 37 back.
