I got a rebuilt trans but it was worse than the original manual that was in it. My mechanic says it needs new synchronizer but unable to find any. Anyone know where to find or any other transmission makes could be made to fit?

For the Packard V8's swapping a Chevy transmission on is fairly common. I doubt it would work directly with yours, but because all 49-56 at least had an Ultramatic option, I wonder if it could be made to work.

I imagine others will respond with better ideas.

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.

G'day Doc,

to PackardInfo.

Have you tried Kanter or Max Merritt?

Also, I invite you to include your '52 Packard in the Packard Vehicle Registry.

I saw a Pan-Am race car wannabe that had a kit trans, but I don't what. So, there may be something out there that will work.

? sychro's should not be a problem...personally I have not verified, but I know in the past MaxMerritt had them refurbished.
If not, I have some NOS, however due to scarcity, I value them as a commodity.
