For value it's hard to say and I'm not familiar with the market. I doubt it would really be restorable keeping the original drivetrain that this point, but who knows, so the "best" buyer would probably be someone with a similar car, who would either use it for parts, or have a very good sense of how to do an "economical" restoration. Really the same could be said about any car that makes decent financial sense to restore. Of course, for these early era Packards, such buyers would be extremely scarce.

Any progress been made on this old girl yet? From what I'm seeing, it doesn't look like the wood wheels are going to be much good and will likely need to be replaced anyway.

I also don't really understand everybody telling you to jack it up - the thing is sitting on the ground - how are you going to get a jack underneath it?

As has been previously stated, probably not economically feasible to do a full-bore restoration on this one, it would cost more than the car is worth, but, would make a fantastic driver-quality and all-around fun car if the initial cost of buying it was reasonable. Personally, I think $13K is a bit on the high side for her given the amount of very expensive work that lies ahead.

Good luck, definitely needs saving.

Early Packard drivetrains are very robust and that car is very restorable. Sad it wasn't stored properly. It must have been awesome when they put it there.

Below is an 840 that was pulled out of a New Jersey swamp around 1960 and kept the original drivetrain. That was in the days before they were making fakes. That's why I like the early cars. They never die if you take care of them.

When I saw the original picture I thought that it looked like Central Valley dust and grime. (BIL and SIL live in Visalia, so anything outside for any period of time quickly goes ag-dirt beige)
