I have been running a non-original cutout in my 640 Phaeton, but just acquired an original Owen Dyneto one. Does anyone know where the wire from the generator connects to the cutout? The BAT terminal is clearly marked. Also, what is the hole in the side of the cutout for?

The cutout you pictured has two connection points for the wires side by side. The earlier version (1929 - ?) only has one, the one to the battery. Where does the generator wire connect on this type, is it on the underside of the cutout?
