New here on the 55-56 but have been a regular on the post war group while restoring my 2126. I found a 55 400 identical to the one I drove in HS mhy junior/senior year that has seen a B- restoration with less than attentiive reassembly. I'm trying to remove the two door panels to access the window lower stop bracket on drivers side and electric window switch on passenger side. My 2126 was simple with a roll pin accessed by depressing the door panel against a spring. Cant seem to figure this one out. Any help would be appreciated..
Cheers

There is a clip that holds it on. Hard to describe...

First, be sure you are NOT prying on the stainless steel piece in the door cards. You will tear it up.

Take a small thin flathead screwdriver and push on the side of the clip, then pull the handle off. Let me see if I can find a picture.

Thanks
HPH...I have not done anything yet (nothing ventured...nothing screwed up LOL). I will see if I can open a bit of space between handle and door panel. a picture would be great
Also, If someone could point me to the moderator who logs in packard owners, I need to update this car info to add to my 2126.
Cheers

There is an old thread with photos of the underside of handle, clip and a GM style upholstery tool that will work to release the clip here.
Farther down in the thread is a photo of a different Snap-On tool with a notch end that could be easily copied and made in the garage shop. The photo below shows how the tool would be used.

The person who mans the registry is Mal --- Ozstatman. You need to be logged in to see his profile and send a message but click the link above or on his user name in any post he has made and his profile will appear. Click on the "Send Message" button under his name in the profile and a new window to send him a private message will appear.

Custo, thanks, see Howard's response and link...

My screwdriver suggestion, if you press on 1 or both of these points, you can unseat the clip flange and get it off. It's how I do mine.

I bought the tool that Howard showed and don’t think it can be some with out it as both sides of the latch have to be moved, which the tool does. The business nd looks something like this one from Amazon.com

custo eight, You rang? I see you've already added your '55 Four Hundred Hardtop Coupe to the Registry, so

Concerning updating your '47 Custom Super Clipper Eight Long WB Sedan entry in the Registry you should be able to do this yourself by the following means.

1) Make sure you're logged in on PackardInfo.

2) Open up your Registry entry.

3) Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click on the "make changes" link in the bottom left corner.

4) Make the changes, add the info, etc.

5) Click on the "Save changes" button at the bottom of the page.

Your Registry entry should now be updated with the info you added/changed.

My dad bought that tool

And it makes getting off a lot easier.

You push in then out comes right off.
