My 56 Caribbean brake pedal is very high and barely moves, but the car stops well. Do I need to get a new booster/treadle vac (sp). If so, where do I get them?
Thanks

There is no adjustment on the power brake pedal but if it has good assist and stops with only a slight bit of motion it sounds as if it is OK. Check out this 53 commercial starting about the 35 second mark and see how little pedal travel it takes to stop the car.

The one in my 1954 Patrician was rebuilt not long ago and it also has little travel but will stop the car on a dime. The last time it was rebuilt decades ago I don't recall it being so light-footed but it sure is now and I like it like that!

Sounds like my 400. Is anything different from how it used to be, or did you just start driving the car?

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.

Barely moves and stops well? That is exactly why I like Treadlevacs.

Just to be safe, check for vacuum at the check valve on the carb. Also check the related vacuum hoses and reserve tank for leaks.
