More details might be helpful, such as standard or automatic transmission, car's build date or other ID numbers, any information from old caburetor, if you have it.

My vehicle is a touring sedan, body number 2272, Standard transmission, I am just finishing up putting the rebuilt 327 L8 engine back in the car. I still have the old 2 barrels Carter WD-O carb with an automatic choke. My problem is the threads for the tube that goes from the exhaust to the thermostatic spring have been sheared off as well as the metal around this spring has been bent and chewed up. I just figured it was better to replace the whole thing than to rebuild it and deal with the broken parts not being perfect but maybe “good enough”

Probably just a thorough cleaning, replacing the choke housing and installing a new kit would get it back up and running. When a casting is this corroded, I use a blaster cabinet with soft walnut shell media as it does not damage the castings but even without that it should clean up with some elbow grease!

(Looks like an older Nissan door panel in the background similar to my former 240SX convertible!)

Yes that was my original plan was to rebuild my current carb-in fact I already have all the parts-but the problem i ran into was the actual casting side of the choke housing was bent in and cracked so I was hoping someone had an extra carb laying around- even if it’s not working as long as it’s complete. But I suppose if someone had just the choke housing piece I could even just use that!

Let me know if you know of anyone/anywhere selling this, thanks!

Also- that is correct the door panel is from a 98 Nissan 200sx!

It’s possible I have a choke housing but won’t know for sure until I get to my Oregon shop in a couple weeks. If I do have one, it will be difficult to identify without seeing better photos of yours, especially the side where it attaches to the carburetor.

My Nissan was a 1992 240SX and the convertibles were hand-built in Southern California with only a couple thousand made.
