I had to reset the Forum Notification table as there was some corruption and also, a few users had 1000s of topics tagged for notifications, which puts a tremendous load on the server when a new post is added. There were 27,000 notifications setup that had to be plowed through every time someone hit submit to see if they were applicable. Then if they were, then an email was sent out to those users who subscribed. Hence the slow down trying to post sometimes. I am also sure some of those where users that are no longer active on the website.

So this was a good time to clean house.

Please only tag topics that are important to you.

Also, if you click Submit on a new Topic or Post, take a look at your browser bar, and see if its trying to do something before clicking Submit again. Otherwise, it for sure will cause a double (or triple) post.

On another website, we joke about the hamster powered server and how they should upgrade to a guinea pig or the like. I do find that all servers seem to run better if I have a good high capacity internet connection.
