Car history info
A 1956 400 listed on this site has been in my possession since October 2006. It was purchased from Mr. Louis Abelove’s collection as a running car needing brakes. The 1956 was used as a reference during a frame off restoration of a 1955 400. Information that came with the 1956 shows it was previously owned by John Serman of Peoria, Illinois (Illinois title dated 1991). Additional sketchy information would indicate a previous owner may have been a Mr. Stan Kegal of Minnesota. Can anyone verify any past owners? Car Identification is 5687 3743. Thanks in advance.

Wish I could help Happy, but I'm not even sure where to begin to look for that information. Hope you are able to find something!

Many of us look for that same information but it's very difficult - almost impossible - to find unless it came with the car in the form of documents. No answer means that no one knows, not that no one cares.

Each state has some type of "title search" but for a vehicle sold out of the state they would probably not retain anything past 7 years. The other thing is to ask the roster keeper on the PAC website but the chance of them having anything decades old is very slim.

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.

Agree with HPH, try the PAC Roster keeper. A long shot, but worth a try.
