Thanks for the confirmation Ross. Looks like there will be some set-up to minimize splash and manage flow.

I think that opening is NPT pipe thread. Putting a fitting or short pipe nipple and hose in it will prevent flooding the starter with dirty water.

Weather has been fantastic, and the drives have been wonderful. I have been focusing on the temperature of the engine while she is out running. As I mentioned before, I flushed the cooling system several times and used No Rosion for the flush, and then switched to purified Water and the No Rosion Additive. I then put a new thermostat in. I had her out when we had the 95+ temps and she never broke 190. In the more recent drives, she has settled at 180. Not sure if there was 1 thing, or a combo of things to keep the temperature where it should be, but I will take it and not question it! I plan to toggle between Anti-Freeze for the winter months during storage, and then back to the water and No Rosion during the driving season.

Cheers,
Ben

Hi. Looking to replace my battery. I see reference to the Redtop Optima and want to confirm this is the correct one. My current battery is the typical "rectangle" and this one looks more oblong. Most interested to ensure it will fit.

Thoughts appreciated!

You'll probably have fabricate a holddown that will secure the smaller optima in the tray. Many have done it and I am sure can supply photos.

I have that Optima battery and have been very happy with it. I also bought a battery tray from John Ulrich that is made for the Optima. Here is the link.

John Ulrich - battery tray for Optima 6V

John also sells on eBay....here is the link to the tray on eBay.
