WANTED 1937 120-C vent window regulator or regulator gear

I'm looking for a 1937 120-C passenger vent window regulator or original regulator gear. A few of the teeth on my gear were worn, so I tried to rebuild it with the reproduced gear that is available online. But that gear is made out of bronze and is just too soft. I installed new weatherstripping on the vent window so it's a bit tight & a bit of resistance in closing and opening it and it has caused the gear inside that is keyed to the shaft to get smashed and open up, so now's there's some play.

I can't help with parts, but I suggest that (with new rubber) when you get another gear or another regulator, be sure the parts are aligned correctly to allow the vent window to close as easily as possible, then apply some rubber lubricant to the contact areas of the glass and frame, and gently close the window by cranking the handle and applying light hand pressure to the glass to help it close snugly.
Then leave it closed for a few days so the rubber can take a set. That should avoid over stressing the gear, if it is meshing properly and lubricated properly.

New rubber parts like vent window rubber and door and trunk gaskets often need a few days to conform to the gaps they have to seal.

This is best done in warm weather or a heated garage, if one is available. After a few days, some re-adjustment may be needed, so I'd avoid replacing upholstery until the vent window works satisfactorily. I like the crank-type vent windows, but a lot of them are stripped. If the vent window leaks and whistles when closed, it may need further adjustment. Forcing the window shut with the crank is likely to give trouble.

Vent window frame is aligned as best as I could get it. I did use my hand to try to guide the window open and close, but forgot to use silicone or rubber dressing on the rubber at first. I however did apply some after the fact. Unfortunately I was testing it inside and did not take it out in the sun to soften or conform to sit lower. I've been installing my new windows and vent windows and wanted to make sure it worked correctly before putting back everything together. Fortunately the drivers side works with no issue even with some slight resistance on the rubber. However that gear is the original cast aluminum, so it's a lot harder and doesn't give. Maybe I should've tested it after having it in the sun for some time. Unfortunately it's too late for that for this gear. Hopefully I'll be able to find an original. Thanks for the advise for future reference.

See if these are what you’re looking for:

EDIT: tried inserting the links, but it didn’t work.

Do a search on ebay for “packard vent window regulator” and you’ll see them come up.

That's the one I have. Thanks for the recommendation though.

I may be able to supply a new old stock worm ( shaft). I may have a complete wing window mechanism.
Let me know if you can't locate one in the USA.

Check with John Ulrich (4184 Garden Lane, El Sobrante, CA 94803, 510-223-9587). He makes new ones out of bronze. I bought a pair for my 115C from John.

Thanks. But that's what I've got and unfortunately with the new rubber installed, the fit is nice and tight (vent window frame to rubber), and while testing while installed it opened up the inner part to create more play as the bronze is softer than an original cast. My fault for forcing it ever so slightly. I applied some quik weld inside for the time being to close it up, so hopefully that work until I find an original.
