I realized on the rare occasion I lose a part outside, all I have to do is wait for it to turn orange with rust and then I'll find it! Happened here and also before with my headlight switch star washer.

TSC and others have a "magnet on a stick" that can be useful for finding small parts lost in grass or gravel.

Something under the car. And also something unique enough that I care to have found it instead of just throwing a new one on from a hardware store.

Though I checked and I don't think this part is used on a 1931...

If you ever struggle finding parts, places that rent concrete shot blasting machines have those magnet caddy on wheels that work well and may be cheaper than buying one ($50 at Lowe's). I think they may also be stronger magnets.
