It is with great sadness that I am writing to report the death of Santo (Sandy) Chirco, founder of Tucson Packards, who died this morning at 4:25AM after a long illness. My condolences to his wife Rose, his son Mike who I know well and the rest of his family and friends.

I first met Sandy when I popped into Tucson Packards unannounced and found him smiling at me, a stranger, very welcomingly, in a room filled Packard parts and I liked him instantly! He was very proud of the craftsmanship that he had put into his nearby house and gave my local friend who drove me there and me a view of some of it along with showing us his wonderful collection of scale model cars in a room dedicated to them. His personality and sense of humor were priceless.

Sorry to hear. Sandy was a good man; a longtime, reputable, reasonable vendor. Our condolences.

Sorry to hear about Sandy, I met him at some of the earlier Packard Club national meets and bought from him on occasion. A dedicated hobbyist and vendor, he set a fine example for others to aspire to.
