Pleasantly surprised to see someone that realizes their car is missing that part, instead of diving straight into cursing the manufacturer for building cars that vapor lock, and asking which 6V electric pump to buy.

Unfortunately I don't have a spare, though.

It is a simple part, one bend and one mounting ear, I was hoping I had taken a shot of the part by itself, but all I can find is this image of it on the engine. It attaches to the front boss of the manifold and has a cut-out to clear the vacuum lines.
Hope this helps,
Bob J.

There were different shields for each engine block family, the main difference being the length, angle and position on the shield for the two mounting tabs. Those tabs usually -- but not always -- mounted to one manifold bolt and one fuel pump mounting bolt but the details of each tab and mount point varied by engine as did the bend angle on the shield. Depending on fuel or vacuum line routing, some shields also needed a slot or a cutout of a portion of the shield body so the lines could be routed thru.

Here is a photo from the parts manual showing a 22 and 23 series 288/327 shield. You will note the upper mounting tab is at a different angle and location on the shield than the tab shown on the engine in BobJ's photo. The rear bottom mount is hard to see but goes to the rear fuel pump bolt. IIRC, the lower tab on shields for that block family was a piece of flat stock with the end simply bent and bolted to the vertical portion of the shield. It was not welded on like the upper tabs were. I cannot say by looking at the parts book photo if there is a slot on the shield to allow the routing of the vacuum line as it exits the pump and goes to the wiper motor.

Be sure that the pump has its insulator washers and bolt sleeves too.
