Quote:
That's what I had to do recently two local tows. One was a 1955 Clipper and the other a 1989 Chevy Caprice. My friend and I had used his 1995 Ford F-250 Turbodiesel with 5 -speed tranny, many times in previous tows hauling Senior V-8 Packards, G-body and F-body Pontiacs, but U-Haul's computer claimed it was too light! So, we just told the proprietor to input F-350 and everything was fine, including the tow.

Go figure.

Craig, you think U-Haul would have a cow over this?:

Eric: I have a 1998 Ford Ranger Pickup with a 4.0 V6 engine
with 4 wheel drive. I wouldn't attempt to tow with my Ranger what you did yours.

Do the U-Haul trailors have electric brakes??????
Does U-Haul offer rollbacks?????
The price probably skyrockets in either case.

John. I know a construction worker that routinely towed a DitchWitch with a V6 Ranger. Even on the Interstate.

My 2.0 4 cyl won't hardly tow a stripped CJ. But i believe the Chassis is heavy enuf for occasional or short distance low speed heavy duty hauling. I'm surprised the V6's will pull but apparently they do.
