Gator, Thanks for the kind words. At the time I started this project I already had 3 other 4-door Packards and didn't see fixing up another one. It was supposed to be a low dollar project, but it got totally out of control. It would been worth a lot more in origional form than it is now, but that is what they say about hindsight. It does get noticed and when the younger gearheads ask if it will run I have been known to light up those 19.5 inch wide Mickey Thompsons for them. Packardtaximan

You know what would be a great steering wheel in that car (especially if you stick with the woodgrain dash)?

I agree that would look good with the woodgrain dash. I am going to refinish the dash because of the overspray from the paint shop. The steering wheel, seats, instruments, steering coloumn, and console are all out of the first new car we purchased as newly weds in 1971. Thanks for your idea. If we decide to change steering wheels we will use your suggestion.

The upholstry is finally in the works. I was promised the car will be finished by the end of the month. I am thinking of having my right leg shortened because I have already had to rebuild the trany. Maybe a block of wood under the gas pedal would be better. When I get the car back I am going to take it to our Jr. College and put it on the chassis dynamometer to see just what creation I have. I'll post the results. Packardtaximan
