I recently participated as a student in a CCCA judge class. One thing that struck me in their judging criteria is there is a "suggested" 1 point deduction per car for radial tires. The instructor said he was at a recent national Packard meet were two cars received 4 points per tire (or 16 points per car) deduction for having radial tires. Some of the new radials, especially the Diamondbacks look appropriate for whitewall width and overall look of tire. Just thought I would pass this on.

After all of the existing bias-ply re-pop tyres are used up then the radial point deduction rule will most likely be dropped.
