1941 Antenna

Not too shy to talk

I am looking for a roof antenna for my 1941 120 coupe. Any leads would be appreciated.

I am not 100% sure, but I do not believe a roof antenna was available as an accessory on your body style. I know it was available on the Clipper series through the 1950 models but not sure what it started being available.

You may not care if it's original or not, you don;t say. Roof antennas are very scarce in any case

I believe all 41-42 non-Clippers had cowl mounted antennas.
Anyone else have any ideas.??

My 41 110 4 dr had a roof mounted antenna.

G'day Demon,

to PackardInfo. Probably only add to the confusion but my '41 120 Club Coupe has a roof mounted antenna(pic below), don't know the car's full history so can't say whether it was factory fitted or not. While another Coupe here in Oz(pic below) has a cowl mounted antenna.

I believe the last time this subject came up someone was able to source one through Sandy Chico as Tucson Packard. Not sure if he still has them. If Fred (Kanters) doesn't have one, then I would give David Moe at Seattle Packards a call as I tend to have good luck funding pieces like that through him.

The roof antenna was definitely an option on the non-Clippers of 1941-42. You could also choose a cowl-mounted antenna or a running-board antenna.

The cowl-mounted antenna on the red car in the photo that Mal posted does not look correct, but I could be wrong. A closer photo would help.

I believe the factory cowl mount antenna mounts through a single shield-shaped black plastic block fairly low on the cowl. Yesterday's Radio repro's the piece as I recall. The 120 coupe looks like it has an upper and lower mount, but as West says it's hard to tell from the photo.

Did some research on the 1941 photo archive on this site, eliminated duplicates

Single cowl mount- all were chrome 7
Twin cowl mount-black plastic 3
Roof mount 7
