Setting the valves while running is the fastest (shortest amount of time) to do it IN THE DEALER SERVICE environment. The Flat Rate manual is written in terms of time required for any particular procedure. The flat rate manual is used for WARRANTY or other services provided at FACTORY EXPENSE.

SO the factory is more than compelled to make field service recommendations that either save the factory money or increase parts sales so the factory can make more money.

Which means: What is done at the FACTORY may be completely different from what the factory recommends.
