Ok, the road conditions were not always in the most favorable third but as you will see, the Soviets have been resourceful.

Steven, the four-lens Humber came a little late to be one of the fathers. Wkipedia: "...The styling of the 1960 Series III is distinguishable by its four headlights and revised full-width grille. ...". So perhaps an unmarried sun?

Simplicity wins

--> fly Robin fly

To complete his literary work on this chart-stormer the songwriter just had to add "up up to the sky". That was enough content for a number one hit in the USA in the seventies. Simplicity (sometimes) wins.

...Looking at the Chaika on the lift, were those perimeter frames or unibodies?...

Steven, my preferred online-dictionary is offline and I feel uneasy. I at least understand that we talk about the frame. It has a steel frame, built for eternity. Especially its massive rear square profiled crossbar is reminiscent of the GAZ truck building tradition.
The drabness of the below shown Ukrainian chicken yard seems intended to illustrate that theatrical scenic painting includes wide-ranging disciplines but the name of its scene paiter is R. Eality.

A leaf blower? Roger, that was not bad. But what we see is a device to pollute the car.

Hard to chew?

Take a look at the next pics, taken at a Hungarian movie set.

I've bought an old postcard in ebay, showing the Exposicion Sovietica de Ciencia, T?cnica y Cultura". So far so good. It was listed as printed in 1966 in Mexico but the golden grille is telling me that the Chica Chaika has been built in 1959. Therefore I believe the pictures have been taken around 1960, either in Mexico or at the identically named fair in Havana. The building in the background is labeled with [Secretar]"...ia de Edu..."[caci?].

Great pic as usual! Always did like them Chicas, er, Chaikas.

This one followed me home recently, wonder if these had any influence down at the Design Bureau?
