It amazing what happens went you get them to actually physically power off the server, and then back on. Amazingly hardware starts working again!

To me it is amazing how quickly we become spoiled by rapid page loads and fast download service. When a page load takes tens of seconds to load instead of just a few, it seems like a lifetime. How quickly we forget the download times of dial-up connections. We are cursed by our blessings. Thanks to all who have restored our curse.

Anyone one remember 300 baud modems? First computer I owned was a Commodore 64 with a cassette tape drive for storage and a 300 baud modem. Then about a year later I got a 5 1/2 disk drive and a 1200 baud modem. Man that was screaming fast I thought as I was downloading programs from various BBS's.

How things have changed.

I remember accoustic couplers for analoug telephone recievers connected to dumb terminals that resemble a teletype machine. I wrote the Renault Vehicle Locator sytem on one working 12 hours a day 7 days a week for 2 months.

Stanley Tool in Troy michigan was still using 80 byte hollarith cards as late as 1980 and there were even a few shops running 120 byte Burroghs cards.

EDI*Express one of, if not the very first, world wide (CorporateE) EDI was written in interactive Fortran as late as 1987 and mite even continue to run to this day. GE Mark IV was still using carriage return line feed characters to determine the end of a record well into the early 90's that i know of.

Does it still roll up from the bottom of the screen one line at a time as it asks each question????

Try this insteasd of entering EDI*recIEve, enter EDI*recEIve. They should both work the same.

Hey! I know that place! It's 3-5 miles away. That's the amphitheater in Warren, right?

There's one of those statues in a Dr.s office, a client of ours. Certain businesses sponsored them and they're on display.
