A dumb question

In this photo with optional dual white side wall tires, was this a common and popular option? IMHO, not that attractive and a cleaning nightmare or did the purchaser of a Darrin worry about such things as cleaning tires.packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=8667&cid=44

For that car, double whitesidewall tires was standard equipment. You could order black if you preferred. If you go through the PackardInfo Photo Archives and look at every factory photo of 1930s cars with whitewalls, you'll notice that all of them are double-sided. Right up through 1940. I think they finally went to single whites in 1941.

Even us professional idiots fail sometimes.

West, does it cost anything to join the professional idiots?
I am notoriously cheap but would be glad to join if it costs nothing. I think I probably meet all the criteria for membership. Do you get a membership card? Whose picture is on it?

I hate to hi-jack this thread for a cheap promotion for our society, but I'm going to do it anyway. I apologize to the original poster:
Published in the non-existant handbook of the Society of Idiots, in the section containing the society's insignificant policy statement (Article IV, Section 3 -- Eligibility, paragraph 2), the by-laws state very unclearly that you must 1. cease to be a member of Mensa 2. cease to have a mind of your own 3. if accepted, be absent of mind during all non-existant meetings (or have a satisfactory excuse) 4. become involved in something entirely stupid (such as this post) Currently it is my photo on the non-existing membership card, but during the last meeting that was never held, it was ununanimously decided that we needed to find a better looking representative. I should have been offended by the remarks that weren't made, but being the idiot that I am, I thought they weren't talking about someone else that wasn't there. So, as you may not see, it is very easy to be an idiot. No cost to join. I am only a professional because I make a very bad living at it. Not everyone in the society is a professional.

No apologies needed! I'm a prime candidate for the society and a long time --almost charter-- member of Threadjackers.

My mistake, I said paragraph 2. It's actually not stated in paragraph 4 under Eligibility. Sometimes I feel like the idiot that I am.
I should also point out that there are a number of idiots who are not aware of the fact, so if you see any, feel free to tell them.
