Hi,

I just joined the packard forum and may need some help on a car i know little about.I have collected muscle cars for the last 25 years and the older i get the less interest i have in the popular muscle cars. Look forward to enjoying he 48 super 8 I just purchased. Congratulations on the purchase of your '48 super 8 and to PackardInfo. There are a number of Packard parts vendors who could help with the parts you're after. Have a look in the Packard Directory or other members may be able to advise. In the meantime I invite you to include your Packard in the Packard Owner's Registry.

Congratulations and welcome. Almost all available factory service & parts manuals as well as technical bulletins are on site in the literature and manuals section. There are several Packard vendors that can help with new and repro parts as well as some members here who have parts cars. I don't specifically know about the pieces you mentioned but depending on the items, some trim will probably be available used only.

assume you mean the part low on the door. Try Sandy Chirco, Tuscon Packard. It's the same on 2-dr fastbacks and convertibles.

Don't forget about your friendly local small time Packardinfo parts seller, me. Is yours a 2dr. or 4dr? Plenty of 22nd series stuff out there...you should not have any major problems finding what you need. DAF

Thanks for the reply. My car is a 2 door convertable. The prior owner said somebody stole both lower door moldings off and the rear license plate lamp. ???? Hope to find these soon.

i believe joel ray had some thing to do with the the step plate reproductions. he supplied me with a set for my 2259 and my 2293, if you look on ebay he has adds (packards 1 ). i have a usable license light if you are interested pm me. good luck
